MR BUNNY AT FEATHERSTON.

Mr Bunny addressed a crowded meeting at the Oddfellows Hall, Peatheraton last night, Mr Reynolds was voted to the chair. Mr Bunny touched on the samo subjects as at Carterton and Greytown, viz., leasing lands, taxation, railways under a Board without politioal influence, education up to sixth standard, also the ferret question, He said the volunteer and cadet corps Bhouldbe encouraged m every way possible. He also stated that an impression had got abroad that tho secret of the ballot box was not sacred, but he assured them it was, and could not be tamporrd with. No one could tell how a man voted.

In reply to a question by Mr Murray Jackson "do you propose to construct the North Island Railway before the land is obtahed by the Government and allow tho Natives to put what pr oe they like on it " Mr Bunny said he would be in favor of the Government obtaining the land first to prevent our friends, the land sharks from obtaining it end chargiug what prices they liked. (To Mr Brunskill), He would be in favor of preserving the game and native birds ou the Lake.

To Mr Welby Jackson: He would bo in favor of devoting the numerous Education Reserves for the use of the primary schools. To Mr Pardon: He was in favor of continuing the present licensing system. To Mr Wilkinson: He would be in favor of allowing the excursion trains to run through to Greytown, and not being left out of all excursion time tables as at present, Greytown ought to have the same benefit as Masterton, Carterton, and Featherston.

A vote of confidence was proposed by Mr Cundy, that Mr Bunny was a tit and proper poisou to represent the district, and was carried unanimously.
