MR SUTTON AND THE GEAR COMPANY.
(To the Editor,) Sir,—l beg to contradict a statement made by Mr Sutton at Mr Beetham's meeting at Masterton, to the effect that he was hunfctd out of the Gear Company by Messw Beetham and Buchanan, I tnaj state that Mr Sutton was never in the employ of the Gear Meat Company, but that he, Mr Sutton, had asked me to give him a trial, I did so on my own rcspon«ibility for a month or two. I then told him I could not get him an appointment in the Gear Company. I may fuither state that Mr Beetham or Mr Buchanan never referred to Mr Sutton in any tvay whilst in my employ, I am, &c., Alex. MoKeszie. P.S.—I may state that Mr Buchanan was one the deputations that waited on the Hon, Mr Dick to get the restrictions removed from the East Coast sheep 30 as to allow us to get the sheep through that had beon purchased,—A.
