CASTLEPOINT ROAD BOARD.
A meeting of the Board was held at Tenui on Saturday last. -Present; Messrs Machy (Chairman)|Langdon, Handysides, Meredith, Harvey, and Belliss.
The minutes of the previous meeting wero read and confirmed.
The Treasurer reported balance iii bank £199 10s lid,
Tho overseers report was read and con. sidercd.
Letters were read from Mr A. Cameron stating that ho had purchased Femhill property and wished his name placed on the rate roll for same, From Messrs Smith & Hogg applying for a share of Board's advertising and printing, From the clerk of tho County relative to' the amount due to this Board, Prom Mr Smith, requesting the Board to acknowledge account given by men for stores. From Mr Sheath, requesting that the Mataikuna Pakowai road be put in' repair as tho lute rains had blocked it for wheel traffic, : From Mr Jcpson, requesting an extension of time for one month in which to complete his contract. From Mr John Harvey, requesting .to have his name placed on the roll of ratepayers. llesolvcd .-That the road from Mataikuna station to tho beach be opened for traffic, and that the work on the Packspur and Blackeys Hill be deferred till Spring, That Messrs Cameron and Harvey's names be placed on the rate roll, That the Daily and the Star receive an equal share, and insert all the Board's advertisement, Thataratcofa halfpenny in the £ be made on all rateable property in the Cashpoint Eoad District for one year, from the Ist April, 1884 to the 31st March, 18S5, to bepayable in one instalment on the 26th of July. That Messrs Maokay, Meredith, and Belliss be appointed a Finance Committee with power to act, and that- two members form a quorum. That the Overseer be instructed to prepare an estimate for a horse tack and. two stone crossings-in the Whakaroro ond of. tho Blackhill track. That a sum of £7, be expended out of the funds of No. 1 Ward in repairs to the road near Waihora, That Mr Smith be informed that the Board will recognise orders when counter-signcd by the Overseer, That Mr Jepson be allowed an extra month to complete his contract, and an advance payment of £SO. The following accounts were passed for payment:-No. 1 Ward, wages, £l3 lGs 6d ; No, 3 and 5 Wards, wages, £3 2s Gd; No. 7 Ward, wages, £25 Os; metalling at office, £7 Us 6d; metalling main road, £l4 3s 6d; J. Payton & Co;, advertising. £l3 17s 3d j D. F. McCarthy, grubber, 3s 9d; J. Henderson, oats,£l 2s fid; salaries and wages, £22 16s fid.
