CARTERTON-TUESDAY, (Before H, S. Wardell, Esq., 8.M.) Constable Robert Darby v Adam Miller,Defendant who wag represented by Mr Sandilands was charged by the Constable with having allowed an unlawful game to be played upon his licensed premises, namely a game with dice, called " Yankee Grab," Aftet the evidence of the Constable had been taken the defendant, pleaded guilty, and was fined £5 aud costs, lis, and the conviction was endorsed upon his license, John Burrows v Wi Makupuku.-Ulaim £32. This case which had been adjourned three times from various causes was finally dealt with, and judgment was entered for the plaintiff for £l7 and costs,

John Sperry v Thomas Nix.—Property Tax, £2 lis 3d. Judgment for amount and costs,

Lewis Nix v William Coe,-Damages £lO, This was a case arisiug out of cattle trespass, Judgment was entered for plaintiff for £7, and costs CBs.

John Bowstead v John Burrow,—Wages £2B 2s Bd,. In this case defendant admitted owing the amount but stated that lie bad a set off which he asked time to sue for. Tho amount of judgment and costs was paid in, and impounded pending the judgement in the cross-action,

(Before H, S, Warded, Esq,, R,M.) Daniel Cameron v Hugh O'Connor.Allowing a chimney in a house occupied by hiaa to catch fire. Defendant pleaded that he neither owned or occupied the house. Case dismissed. There was another charge of the same nature against (he same defendant, which was also dismissed, There were three debt cases which were settled out of Court.
