The Wairarapa Daily. MONDAY, JUNE 23, 1884. THE COMING ELECTION.
The coming election will probably result in returning a houso of which about a third will be followers of Major Atkinson, another third followers of Sir Julius Vogel, and. the balance Greyites and Montgojieryites, It will not give either party a majority in the Assembly, and coalition' will bo absolutely necessary in order to obtain a Ministry. The Atkinson Ministry as now constituted cannot stand. It would have fallen long ago but for the dread of Sir George Grey getting back into power, • Sir George Grey is still a menace to the country! Ho is an excellent tactician, and it won't be his fault if he does not attain office, Sir Julius Vogel will, however, save the Colony a Grey regime, When tho time comes for a coalition Ministry to bo formed it will be possible for Vogel and Atkinson to unite forces, but it will be impossible forjYoGEL and Grey to : pull together. While Sir Julius Vogel is in New Zealand there need be little fear of Sir George Grey getting back into power*-
