CORRESPONDENCE
COUiNTY ROADS, TO THE EDITOR. Sir—Allow me a small space In your valuable paper to point out the way in which the County Council, tbrough their employes, do the road work about'Teuui. It was pointed out about the middle of April that there were several very dangerous pieces of road within two miles of Teuui, and proposed that some metal should be put on while the road was dry and fit to receive : it, No notice was taken of this, but instead earth and clay was thrown on, which, by the oonstant traffic is reduced to mud, more or less to the depth of,the horses knees, and in addition in, places that; were good and had been metalled, where worn a little 1 hollow, ibey have filial up with mud, and in other places
covering the metal with mud. If this is to be the atyle the sooner the Council gets a better and less expenaire staff the more the ratepayers will be pleased. At present settlers ou the Tinui-Alfredton line are paying a County as well as a Road Board rate and get worse than- nothing done, I am <fce., Robert Langdon. • ■ Tenui, Whareama, June 3,1884.
