A WIFE WANTED
[TO THE EDITOR OP THE DAILY,]' i Sir,—ln passing through my district yesterday, engaged in the distribution of your paper, I was met by a lady who inquired of me if I knew,, who the gentleman was that had. recently advertised for a wife; whether it was a fact that he really wanted one,' or that he had a blank album that he wished to fill up at the ladies' expense! I replied that I was not aware of this, 'ihe lady again said: "we have a young lady 'in our establishment who seems very anxious in the matter." I then replied that under the circumstances she had better apply to the Daily office for further information. Garlylo once defined respectability as keeping; a gig; I see you, Mr Editor, do so as paying for an advertisement. I am, &c., T. W. Siiute. ,
