TO THE EDITOR, Sii!,—ln my letter published in your issue of yesterday, I stated that Councillor McCui'dlo was in possession of certain facts prior to the publication of his letter on tho 18th inst; I believed so because he acquired that, information, to my knowledge, some time before the" Daily" was delivered at my office, Mr McCardle has since informed me he had a copy of the paper in his pocket at the time, and in these clroumstaiices I have no hesitation in withdrawing that statement. 22nd March, 1884.
