CORRESPONDENCE.

TO THE EDITOR.

Sir,—ln his letter published in your issue of the ISfcli, Councillor MeOavdlb; states the Suspension Committee has clearly been « had eithev wilfully or by mistake," in the matter of the copy; list of ratepayers which was obtained from tho County office, Prior to the issue of that date coming out Or McCardle was put in possession of the acts of the case, and it is to be regretted he has not taken steps to place the matter in its true light before the nublic, after making use of the expressions above mentioned. now transpires that what ho copied was the list of names on the rate book, and not those on the electoral roll, I have no distinct recollection of these circumstances; but feel confident that I supplied him with what he ashed for, I trust this explanation will show that there was no wilfulness on my part, and that if the Committee has been " had," as Or McCardle puts it, the fault is their own for not securing the list they wanted.—l am, <fec,, F, G. Moore, County Clerk,
