CORRESPONDENCE.

To the Editor, . Sir,—His Worship the Mayor, finding he has a very bad case, has resorted to the usual lawyer's weapon—abuse of his opponent," lam prepared at all times to fight the battle of the Fire Brigade with tkMayw, but I am not prepared to enter into a contest of abuse'with Mr'Mwes. That gentleman js too;well.'practised in the use of the weapon—'too; well fitted both by nature, and art t'p' ; Wield it for me to stand a chance with'him; I therefore give way and freely acknowledge at the outset that Mr Lowes is far and away the best abuser j nor do I envy him tho distinction.
