R.M. COURT.
GREYTOWN,-TUESDAY,
(Before H. S, Wardell, R.M., and S. Revass; J,P.)
Constable Joseph Eccleton v John Ryan, Thomas Ryan, and George Press.—Defendant's were charged with having feloniously stolen from the dwelling house ot Raniira Te Hio some salt beef, some firewood, a frying pan, and other articles. Defendants pleaded not guilty through Mr Gray. The case was dismissed as against John Ryan and George Press, the latter being a little boy of about eight years old. The Court ordered the Constable to administer to the other defendant, also a little boy, six strokes with the birch rod for having taken the firewood.
R. H, Ross v W, C. Buchanan.— Damages. £ls. Mr Sandilands for plaintiff Mr Gray for defendant. This case was brought to recover tho above amount as damages in consequence of the defendant having precontract for falling certain lush at Ahikouka South. The case occupied the Court for some hours, and resulted in a judgment against the defendant for £7 an<} costs,-
