DISASTROUS HAILSTORM AT ASHBURTON.
Ashbokton, January 18, . A disastrous hailstorm passed over a portion of this district on Thursday afternoon, tho stones being over an inch in diameter. It did a great deal of damage, and-in one case it cut down a crop of wheat of 250 acres in extent, beyond any hope of being saved, Many farmers have suffered considerably along.the track of the storm, and their crops wer'e'all more or less ruined.
