December 6. Tho raonimng clauses of the Federation Bill were under discussion at the Convention this morning. A general agreement _ exists among the delegates regarding the principles of the measure, which it is expected will bo unanimously adopted tomorrow.
At the Convention to day. Mr Dibbs, Colonial Treasurer of Now South Wales, gave notice of a motion requiring the various Governments to be pledged to aubmit to their several Legislatures the various resolutions that may be como to by the Convention. ."■ '
Sir GeorgeDes'Vceux, Governor of Fiji, gave notice of a motion having for its object the prevention of. unrestnoted purchases of land in New Guinea and the Pacific islands.
Mr Bray, Premier of South Australia, tabled a motion in favor of requesting the Imperial Government to introduce a Bill constituting an Australasian Federal Council, Mr Giblin, Promier of Tasmania, gave notice of a motion for tho appointment of the Premiers of Viotoria, New South Wales, South Australia, Queensland and New Zealand as a Oommittoe to carry out the objeots of and summon the Convention when necessary j Mr Service to be Chairman of the Committee.
