MR W. C. BUCHANAN.
To the Editor, A Sir,—l have read Mr Buchanan's a reply to Mr Hawkins with much « astonishment. At my late lecture iu ™ Greytownl understood Mr Buchanan to say one thing, the next day he wrote you a letter in which he said another, and now he writes a letter which it is impossible to make head or tail of. Would Mr Buchanan kindly answer me a plain question 1 Is he in favor of Land Nationalisation, or is he not I I should like a plain straightforward answer, becoming a public man and our representative. Not such an answer as I received when asking him a plain question upon county amalgamation, as to this day I do not bow what his views are, I think Mr Buchanan is aware that I am always ready to excuse him very greatly, but I am not prepared to allow him to be swayed by any section of his constitu« enoy upon this important question of land nationalisation, He would therefore oblige .me by kindly " Yes 1" or "No I" as many others are suro to follow his example, I am, <fec, Coleman Phillips.
