WAIRARAPA CALEDONIAN SOCIETY.
The annual meeting of tho Wairarapa Caledonian Society was, held at the Club Hotel last evening, and was numerously attended, Mr W. Lowes, President, occupying the Chair. The balance-sheet of the past year (published in our columns! yesterday) was read and accepted, on the motion of Mr Perry. The election of officers was then proceeded with. On the motion of Mr Fitton, Mr Lowes was re-elected as President, and Mr W. H. Beetham as Vice-President. Mr W, Sellav was re-elected Hon, Secretary, and Treasurer, the meeting speaking in high terms of the manner in which he. had discharged the duties of these offices dining the past year. The followiug members were then elected as a,directory for the ensuing year;— Messrs A. Bish, T. Brown, A, W. Cave, R. Cameron, J. Drummond, A. Elkins, E. J. Ktton, F, Gray, A. W. Hogg, J. lorns, J. lavingsfcone, Job. Maeara, Jno. Macara, GL Heron, D. McMaster, J. Payton. W. Perry, W. Kapp, A.Stewart, D.Buick, and J. 0. Yallauce. Mr Livingston* complained that some men were put on. the directory who did no work at the annual meeting. He thought that gentlemen who were members should study the day of the sports and try to do some work. If they had faith in keeping tho Society going they should endeavor to promote its wolfare. The Chairman said that perhaps this year all would work. He trusted that such would be' the case. Mr Sittton thought that at tho last sports there were plenty of directors in the ring to do all that was required. On the motion of Mr Pitton, seconded by Mr Carswell, Messrs T. Brown, P. Gray, T. Hill, J. Livingstone, W. Perry, J. Harvey, Jan., and D. Buick, were appointed judges. Messrs Piiton, Elkins, and Bish wore elected starters, on the motion of MrEapp. Messrs lorns and Pitton were reelected auditors, on the motion of Mr Payton.
