, That as the expenses incurred on the Gladstone road under the Roads and Bridges Construction Act was at the instafiee'of No 5 Want and in the interests of settlersjn all fairness this Ward, now forming, a portion of the Carterton Road Board, should bear the entire costs, but.as. the matter was dealt with by the, tacit assent of the Masterton Road Board, it is proposed that the latter body pay one-third. Ihat upon Mr Donovan giving an undertaking to the Board that he°will erect a fence along the western side of the road applied for, the Board will endeavor to purchase from Mr McKay the road required; the clerk to communicate the foregoing resolution to Mr Donovan, with the engineer's specification for fence required, and to request an early reply. That the clerk inform Mr Martin that unless he accedes to the resolution passed at last meeting, the Board will immediately proceed to take the road leading through his property under the Public Works Act.
That the Pernridge contract be determined and offered to the next lowest tenderer.
That any of the members bo empowered to accept of tenders which may_ be given for a bridge on the TJriti lino of road prior, to the next meeting.
