We are very pleased to observe that tbe Masterton Borough Council have at last got a medical report on one of the commonest nuisances in the town, viz.: the silting of the creeks with rank vegetation, and that some action will be taken to give effect •to it. For the past five years we have advocated steps of such a character being taken, and believe that during that period many' lives have been lost and mucli sickness generated by miasmatic odora which were preventive had a fair amount of attention to sanitary matters been given.
