CASTLEPOINT ROAD BOARD.

A meeting of the Board was held at Tinui on Saturday last PresentMessrs Mackay (Chairman), Langdon, Telford, Harvey, Belliss, and Handyside. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and. confirmed, and the outward correspondence was read. The Treasurer reported a balance in the Bank of £522 4s Id, and balance available for future expenditure of £686 58 2d, and. amount duo by County £3OB 9s 4d. The Overseer's report on progress of 'works, was read and considered, The following letters were tljo'n read :—From' Mr "Cox agreeing to allow a road through his property to Mr Dillon's; from Mr Rogers with order for £4, subscript tions for special roadwork at Castlepoint, and stating that ono subscriber now refused to pay; from Mr J. Groves requesting the Board to define the surveyed line to Section 865, Whareamaj from Mr Dillon requesting that the road to Spring Hill be repaired. The Clerk was instructed to reply to Mr Rogers and request payment of the balance due. Also to, reply to, Mr Groves and state that the Overseer would point out the road pegs on the lino named, and reply to Mr Dillon stating that thrOvorseer had boen in-, structed to execute the most urgent repairs to the read to Spring Hill. Resolved—That a sum of £2O be granted to repair the road from Mr Collins towards thePackspur, provided the ratepayers., will swfc any timber required for the work.' , That.the Engineer be requested to. survey the road applied for by Mr Dillon.

That the gate and fencing at the tollhouse be sold by tender. The Overseer was directed to report on the road up Whakaroo at next meeting.
