FAILURE OF THE AMERICAN
TOBACCO CROP.
Dunedin, September 5; Messrs Dalgety and Co have received cable advices from America stating that the growing tobacco crop has been seriously damaged, and that, owing to the bad prospects of the crop and the short supply of last. season, prices of leaf had advanced 6 cents per lb. in the States.
