SLAUGHTERING YARDS. |TO THE EDITOR OF THE DAILY.j Sin,—Your article of to-day is very sensible indeed, re the Wellington Meat Export Company. I contend, and I think : with reason, - that if slaughtering ,is desirable in the district one slaughtering place is altogether insufficient. The one suggested at Fernside or Greytown would do for the lower end of the district, and the ' liberality of Messrs Beethams' offer at Tarataln would answor all the purposes for tho upper part of tho district;f' but for the lower part to send to Tarat'ahi, or; for tho upper end to plod ' across to send to the lower end, in my ■ opinion, is altogether out of the question.
