In the House of Commons to-day, Mr Gladstone announced that in the course of a recent note regarding the progress of the military and judicial reforms in Egypt, Lord Dufferin reported that the reorganisation of the Egyptian army was now nearly complete, The reconstruction of the civil police torce had, however, proved a more difficult matter and was in a more backward condition, and that a fair body of judges had been secured for the administration of justice in the native law courts,

CAPETOWN, August 7. Reports kve been received here from Zululand to the effect that Cetewayo is still alive, and was not killed at Ulundi as previously stated. The rumors are, however, distrusted, and have not as yet yet received any reliable confirmation.
