Mr Barllett, who has succeeded Mr A. Armstrong at the Albion Saw Mill, Carterton, was thrown from his horse near Mr Skey's, on the Taratahi, on Tuesday evening, to whose house he was taken unconscious, On Wednesday he was transferred to his home, but as be has sustained injuries on his head and down the left side of his body it will take a few days fully to develop the effeotß of it. Sage at the Resident Magistrate's Court, Carterton, yesterday, the R.M. referred both at the opening and close of the case, to' the fraud admitted by the defendant on on evidence given by her that .the; bill, of sale had been given when no money -.was owing to protect her goods and ohattels against other creditors. In the face of the registered bill of sale, and the evidenco of the plaintiff and witness called by him, he should give a verdict for the amount claimed, costs of court (265), - eolfoitors' fees (11 Is), witnesses' expenses-,(£l Is), He would also remind Mrs Sagethat the letters sent hy her to him and Mr Wood, with extraotß from the papers with her remarks thereon were of a most insolent nature, andltlmt she was liable to be prosecuted for sending "the same.' Mr Sandilauds alaOj at the opening of the case, after the remarks that had fallen from the Benoh, referred to letters sent by Mrs Sage to hiß wife, instructing unprofoßßionttl practice in. the conduct of the case.
