Reuteu's Telegrams, ALBANY, July 17. The P. and 0. steamship Cathay, with the inward Suez mails dated London, Juno 15th, arrived in King George Sound this afternoon, PARIS, July 16. In the Chamber of Deputies to-day, M, Challemel Lacour, Minister for Eoroign Affairs, stated, in reply to a question regarding the Anglo-French difficulty at Tamatave, that the French Government would act with justice, and make due reparation if it were found that the commander of the French squadron in Malagasy waters had committed an error in dealing with the British authorities at Tamatave, MELBOURNE, July 17. Messrs C. S. Ross and Co., of this city, report the sale of kauri timber, ex Garonne, at the following average prices:—At per 100 ft super—Hewn logs, 12s 9d; sawn flitches, 15s MELBOURNE, Wednesday. Received July 18, 1 p.m.—The manager of tho National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand reports of local grain markets as follows:—Wheat, steady, but not in active demand at 4s lid to 5s for shipping parcels; malting barley, quiet at 5s to 6s; New Zealand oats, quieter and weaker at 2s 9d to 3s lid for feeding qualities, and 3s Id to 3s 2d for milling sorts; New Zealand oats, under bond, slow of sale at 2s Id to 2s 4d.
