[to tat editor op THE DAILY.]' Sir,—At. a recent meeting of the Borougli Council Cr Gapper stated: the cost of the well in Queon-st, to be .£2O. Allow me to correct this statemerit. The original cost of-it was ,£8 7s 3d, but in consequence of the Council allowing the pipe to remain uncovered it was filled with stones, by mischievous boyß, and had to bo drawn und cleared at a second cost of £3 Is; but taking both these charges into account they only make £ll 8s 3d, not 120 as alleged.
