• ■■■':■•;. Wanganui, this day. Mr J. Mi; Bertram, a passenger? by the i 1 uia from Wellington to Wanganui, fell overboard last night'at about 8.30, when off Mana Island. He was standing on the bridge, leaning dgainst the rail, when he lost his balance and fell overboard. It was too rough to lower a boat, but a rope was immediately thrown out. It was of no avail, however. He was a draper, of Halcoinbe. An inquiry'will probably be held to-day.
