Great oheevitig followed in the course of which the little boy clapped his tiny hands. ]3ut h'oro a lady intervened, while papa statesman seemed anything but gratified,, and, looked at his watch,, suggested that it was time to go; and shortly afterwards went hi 3 way, being met m the corridor by tho detectives, who saw him safely into his carriage, Tliis was, howeyer, an unnecessary precaution, as there were not half-a-dozen peoplo in the theatre who" were aware of the interesting fact that the greatest statesman of tho ago had condescended to come among them.
