'UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION | REPORTED FIND OF A LARGE. DIAMOND. Auckland, March 5. Mr Douglas to-day deposited at the Museum a large diamond found by the Raglan prospecting party. Mr Pond, the provincial analyst, has • expressed the opinion that the stone, though a gem, is of too great specific gravity to be a true diamond, and that it is what is called in the trade a rough diamond. Messrs J. Alexander and Kohn, jewel lers, pronounce it a true diamond. Before it was taken to the Museum, Kohn subjected the stone to the jewellers' test of scratching a ruby, with satisfactory results.
