INDEPENDENT ORDER OF ODDFELLOWS.

The half yearly diatriot meeting of the Order was held at the Lodge Boom Pahaulantii on Thursday. There were 15 delegates present from various Lodge) in the district. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. The G.M.'s address was read by the 0, S. and adopted, and ordered to be printed with the report, The election of offices was then proceeded with, Bro Geo, Dixon being plectod I.M. Bro B, P. Loasby D.G.M, Bro Bannister O.S. It was resolved that the application from the Loyal Unity Lodge, to hold | their meetings monthly be now acceded to,

The resolution to procure? banner for the district wa negatived. The motion that, a Colonial Board of Directors for' Hew Zealand be formed, lapsed for want of a seconder, as alio did the resolution that the Districts meetings be held every quarter. A vote of thanks was passed to'the Diatriot Officers for the manner k which they had carried out their part in the reception.of the Governor. ! It was resolved that the next District meeting be held at Carterton. ' After the business had been oonjoladed the delegates sat down to an excellent dinner prepared by Hob( Mullens of the Pabaiitanui Hotel, to whiphi justice was done/ after vhioh/tlii'.qsAilitQyil and 1 patriotic toasts were given, songs Ac,, being interspersed.
