MASTERTON SCHOOL CADETS.
PRIZE FIRING. Thirty members off his Corps attended «t the rifle range on Saturday to compete for the district prizes, under the command of Captain Grundy, asßisted by Sublieutenant Thompson, Mr Ford the second master, and Sergt.-Major Bezar. Firing commenced about ten a.m., and was kept up till two p.m. Ihe following are the scores made at each range, shewing the prize winners, the shooting of the others being an average of about 14 points

Pearson ... 15 2-17 6/Great interest was taken in this first firing for prizes, and now that they fire from the Under weapon, a great improvement may be looked for 1 We yet hope to hear of matches fired; in whioh our loofil cadets will give a good account of themselves, and that* too,. before the present shooting season doses.
