To the Editor, Siß,r—"With reference to a statement mid# by Mr Cameron regarding his findin? scab on my property, on April 17th, in a recent sheep case heard at Mastorton, in which the defendant made tbo follow.in/? statement, viz.:-"Last November a letter • 8' sheep was straying, belonging* to Mr Hawkins, in MrOarman's paddock, Another was straying in Mr Miller'a pro." petty, and a third on the property of the defendant, and a fourth'on Mr Richardson's property, about January. Mr Sutton examined Mr Crou' sheep about the 15th'. On the 17th, defendant found scabby, sheep on Mr Crnaa' property. No notice was taken of the matter last year, and defendant failed to see ! why he aud Mr Crow Bhoiild be singled ont this year." -he at the same time omitted to add that Mb sheep had possession of thal part of my. run on the date in question, ai I had only purchased the land, on which Mr Cameron stated he found scab, from the GoYernmont on the previous January, and his Blieep were not fenoed back off my land until May, I cannot help feeling surprised at Mr Cameron's forbearance in keeping soioportant a aeoret to himself for so long a period without telling eorae of his neighbors, more; especially myself. I feel myself called on' to make a few remaiks, as Mr Cameron's statement is likely to mislead people as to the actual facts of the oa.se; and it might look as if ing me aod ignored. tjj'e'ficab.as he inspected my flook on the 16th of April, or, otherwise, that I had been hiding the scab, 'Apologising for. trespassing on your Valuable space, I am, etc., ~;,... ,m ti JOHN Cross, • . •" Glenside,'" ' Wfasriama,
