A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT.

A terrible appjdmii has occurred in one of the Bulphur mines at Caltanisetm, Sicily. T|ie rope by which a waggon heavily laden with sulphur was being drawn up an incline suddenly snapped. The waggon rushed at a terrible speed to the bottom of the pit, and was instantly dashed to pieces. Owing. to the high friction, the brimatone burst into flames, with the most disastrous lVßults to Ike miners, who were all at work at the time. As soon as the fire was extinguished there were no fewpr than fhirtego bodigs taken out of the pit, the victims having all been suffocated and burned to death, There wero in addition upwards of thirty miners who had received injuries, chiefly burns of a more or less serious character,
