CARDINAL MANNING AND THE SALVATION ARMY.
Cardinal Manning, speaking of a meeting of the Society of St Vincent of Paul, at his residence, Westminster, strongly deprecated the religious excitement occasioned by "such organisations us the Salvation Army and' the Bluo Ribbon Anny. Whilst lie admitted that a great deal of fervour and enthusiasm was developed by such auencjes, he feared they too often led to unfortunate results, He earnestly exhorted the members of the society, in their labors among the poor to endeavor to dissuade 'them being led away by such excitement. Lord Denbigh also spoke upon the hopeful prospects of Roman Catholicism in England.
