LICENSING COURT, CARTERTON.

A meeting of the Committee was held yesterday. Applications of R. Hodgins, R. H, Elliotto, and T. Ray for renewal of their licenses for hotels at Carterton were granted. The application of Henry Giles for a renewal of his license for the Marquis of Normanby Hotel was refused upon an objection by the police to the personal habits of the applicant. Mr Sandilands, on behalf pf applioantand others, applied for an adjournment, which was granted for 28 days, ' Applications for 12 o'olock licenses by R. H. Elliotte and H, Giles were refused, the Committee considering that they were not required.
