VOLUNTEERING.

CADETS, The Masterton School Cadets were inspected by Captain Tully yesterday. 60 members were present, under Captain Grundy, Lieut, Kay, and sub-Lieutenant Thompson. Sergt.-Major Bezar put the Company through the following manoeuvres ;—Wheeling into half companies, forming fours halt and on the march, the march past in half companies and sections and wheeling in company. Captain Tully expressed himself greatly pleased at their progress, and complimented them, particularly on their wheeling which he said was superior to anything he had seen for some time past, In congratulating the boys, he pointed out the great advantages efficient drill gave' them both now and in the future, and the superiority it would give them when they became old enough to joinan adult oorps.

VOLUNTEERS. I The Masterton Rifles were inspeoted by Captain Tully last evening, when 40 members were present, Lieuts. Donald, and Carr in command. Captain Tully put them through company drill, after which Sergt.-Major Bezar gave them a spell at bayonet exeroise. The inspecting officer appeared pleased at the result of his inspection.
