Tallow market is firm-best mutton, £43 per ton; best beet, £42 10s. Leather market firmer-best sides are worth lid. New Zealand flax of fine quality is worth £2B per ton. THE CHRISTCHURCH BURGLARIES. ' - Ohbutohdbok, May 25. Two men were brought up_ to-day on suspioiom of being concerned in the Hi»hstreet burglaries. The polioe, however, appeared to b? quite unable to proceed with the case until tho man who shot at Mr Deans has been secured. They say they think the three are oonneoted in the. burglaries, and hare obtained a remand for a week, by whioh time, apparently, they hope to catch the fugitive. Another attempt at burglary was mado at Avondale last night; the burglars wero fired at twice, but escaped unhurt. [ . FATAL ACCIDENT. Dcnedin, this day. At Bendigo a boy named Lane 11 years of age, was thtown from a horse, and dragged over 100 yards. Death resulted from concussion of the brain, two days afterwards. ANOTHER RAILWAY ACCIDENT. Tiwaru, May 25. The evening train from Oamaru last evening ran into a trolly containing threo men (railway employees) between Wailio Bridgo and Studhulme's Junction. . Ono of the men escaped unhurt, while the other two, named Harris and Hauley, respectively, were apparently much hurt. The train was stopped, aud the men, who were insensible, were put into a carriage and brought to Timaru, where they were taken to the Hospital. Careful examination showed that they were suffering, one from a severe and the other from a less severe concußiion of the brain. No bones were baoken, and no particular local injuries woro discoverable. To-day Hanloy was still in an unconscious state, whiiu Harris, who had recovered consciousness, complained of pains in his stomach.. I'ATEK. Particulars were received by the Traffic superintendent here of an accident last night at Studholme Junction, but it is stated that two men on a trolly were only slightly hurt.
