THE OXFOBD MATCH,

LoNDon, May 15. The first match of tho Anstraliam cricketers in England was commenced today at Oxford against eleven of the local University. The weather was. fine, and there was a lively wicket. The Australian went in first, and their innings closed for 362. The following were the highest scores .-Massie, caught, 206 (Men, bowled, 19; Jones, caught, 39 \ Garrett, bowled, 41 ;Palmer, bowled, 18 Murdoch was bowled for nil. Massie batted splendidly, but was badly missed early in tho innings. The play of the Australians was much admired, and the neldmg of University players was excellent. At tho close of the day's play the Oxford Eleven had two wickets down for 6 runs.
