(united press association.) SERIOUS ACCIDENT IN CANTERBURY. *—.—_ Chrisicuokoh, May 12. A serious accident happened at Kaiapoi on Thursday evening to Messrs J. Jackson and Siason, who reside at Papanui, near Ohristchurch, and had'bdon out for a day's shooting. On their return homo, while Hearing the swing bridge at Kaiapoi, thoir horse became startled and swervad from one side of the road to the other, this resulting in both the occupants of the vehicle being thrown out on their heads. They were dragged tor some distance along the road, and Mr Jackson sustained concussion of the brain, his companion fortunately escaping with a few cuts and bruises. There is very little hope at present of Jackson's recovery.
