V OTICE is hereby given that the WELxN LINGTON GAS COMPANY (Limited) intend to present a petition to the General Assembly of New Zealand at its next session, praying for leave to iptroduoe a Bill, to be intituled an Act to amend the Wellington Gas Company's Act, 1870, providing tint the objects for which the Company was .established may be enlarged, and that the powers conferred upon it by the said Act may be extended, so as to enable tlio Company to undertake or engage in the manufacture and. supply of gas,- or aiiy other kind ot light whatsoever in any city, town,or place within the limits of the Provincial District of Wei;ton, and the purchase, hire, or raamtfsci vi of all necessary r.ppliaucss, materials, and things that may be required for any of the purposes Aforesaid ; and supplying-and lighting with gas or otherwise any publw or private building, or any street or public or private place within such limits; and providing and furnishing any municipality: ur body, corporate company, or person, with engiries, machinery, stoves, lpps, lampposts, burners, meters, or pipes, or any other appliances that may be required for the purposes aforesaid, and keeping the same in repair, and the sale of such surplus products or stock-in-trade as the Company may desire to dispose of.
