The repot'!; circulated last night, to the effect that a gun had burst at the Queenscliff Battery, was not correal, The accjdent occurred in tlie following manner!One of the 40-pounder Armstrongs was fired, when the shell with which it was loaded exploded immediately after leaving tho muzzle of the gun, and two civilians (not volunteers, as was previously stated), who were walking below the cliff, were struok by the pieces, One of them is so Berionsly injured that hip reoovory is not expected. The coach which runs between this city and Lilydale met with an accident' this morning. Four persons wero injured.
