The hatchet Btill seems to have a small, portion of the haft sticking up on the Taratabi, though a very earnest request was made on Thursday night that once foiv all it might be finally and entirely buried. At .the meeting of the Olaveville School Committee held on the above evening, the chair was occupied by Mr Walter' Francis. The minutes of the previous meetipg haying been read and confirmed, the treasurer's uspl yepoi't was read. The report of the schoolmaster, shewing a considerable increase m the daily attendance, since he had taken charge, waß read, and Mr Bairstow then called for the rpll to bliow the ages of the children.' The roll, however, was pot forthcoming, so Mr Vile moyed that Mr Goodin's daughter be allowed to attend the school. The motion was seconded by Mr A, Booth, and carried, A letter was read from the Greytown School Committee, requesting the support of. this Committee on behalf of Mr Coleman Phillips as a member of the Education Board. The Committee, however, held true to their first selection, and the nomination of Mr W, C. Buchanan, M.H.R., was confirmed.
