GOOD FRIDAY.
The weather yesterday was beautifully fine and holiday-makers took fyll advantage of it for paying visits to distant friends, quiet picnics, and shooting excursions, In the Wairarapa the towns were almost deserted, but the sound of distant guns could be heard in all directions. The train from Wellington brought up a large number of visitors, many of them intent upon assisting to exterminate the rabbit pest, and thin the number of wild pigeons, and extraordinary bags are reported this morning. / A scratch match between members of the Masterton Volunteer Corps took place
