MR GEORGE MILNER STEPHEN.
The subjoined advertisements appeared in a recent issue of the" Melbourne Age" —Mr Stephen who is now on a professional visit to Melbourne, asserts that hois assisted in his treatment of patients, by spirits, who pass through him magnetic andjother forces which produce the ouros, Be this as it may it is well known in Melbourne and Sydney that his treatment is really most successful, and that he has effected permanent cures, in a great many instances, where the patients had br#n pronounced incurable bv the doctors
''MrMilner Stephen will hi at the afflicted poor next Wednesday afternoon, at the Horticultural Hall, Viotoria-street, when visitors, espeoially the press aud medical profession are cordially invited. Several patients who have been discharged from the hospital as " incurable," but recently cured by Mr Stephen, are aW requested to attend to convince other afflicted persons thafthey need no longer despair of being relieved.. There will be exhibited four block-boots from 3 to 5 inches high, presented to Mr Stephen (three of them on Thursday last) by ladies whose legs had been so lengthened by bim that they could wear ordinary boots, The _ medical staff of the Melbourne Hospital (who denounce Mr Milner Stephen's mode of treatment as being " absurd") are requested to explain to the publio why they discharged those poor patients without any relief, and why their Profession permitted those ladies to be tortured from 15 to 80 years with short less, when his " absurd" treatment restored the natural length so speedily. I '- G. Milner Stephek.
His method of treatment is, chiefly to, merely breathe upon the afflicted part. Some timei he makes one or two rapid passes over it with his band; and in tho case of persons suffering only from pain he, very often, simply looks at them, and orders the pain to leave. .He insists upon if; that bis euros are not tho result of what is generally understood as "magnetio > healing." Mr Stephen, who is a barrister by profession, is a small, courteous, amiable-looking gentleman, who evidently takes a deep interest in his work of healing. The present iB his third visit to''" Melbourne, and so far from hfk being < " bowled out" as an imposter, the number of his patients keeps steadily'increasing.
