ATTEMPTED NATIVE MEETING AT PARIHAKA.
[united press association.] . hEW PITMOUTH, Feb. 17. The Hon. Mr Bryce arrived here this evening.
The natives yesterday attempted to hold a ; meeting at Parihaka, but Mr Butler, the interpreter; went up and told them if they did, they would be arrested. On hearing this, they dispersed and ate the food they had prepared in their whares.
