CASTLEPOINT HARBOR BOARD.

A meeting of the Castlepoint Harbor Board was held in January last, Present—Messrs Williams, Smyth, Langdon, and Mackay. Resolved.—That Mr Mackay be appointed chairman.—That Mr McHutchon he.appointed secretary to the Hftrbor Board.—That the secretary prootire. a minute book,. and any other books required. . . -• Notice of Motion.—Mr J. Williams to move at next moatinglhat the Castle-' ■ point Harbor Board are of opinion thai' the lime has fully arrived when the Government should take the necessary steps, at the next meeting of Parliament towards plaoinfi a sufficient sum on the Estimates • to provide a good boat jetty and moveable flrane at Castlepoint, and are of opinion that to meet the necessary requirements of the trade, it should be so constructed and placed that it can at any time ba lengthened so as to enable steamers in ' fair weather to load and unlotd. The Board would respectfully request the Government to take this matter, at the earliest oppaitunity, into their con. sideration, as it affects in a vital manner the interests of the whole district, and also to make a sufficient endowment from the Crown Lands for the maintenance of < the work required, The next meeting of the Board will tak# ' place on Saturday, March 4th.
