MASTERTON TOWN LANDS TRUST.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the Trust was held last evening. Present: Messrs Feist (Chairman), Hare, Wrigley and Perry. The minutes of the previous meeting were rend and confirmed. THE EDUCATION BOAKD PAYMENT.

. A letter was rend from the Maßterton School Committee, stating that the Education Board declined to proceed with improvements i.o tlm grounds till the 1400 promised by the Trust was paid. The Chairman said that when the Board gave thorn a conveyance of the old school acre they would bo able to raise the .money.

:. -Mr Hare concurred with the Chairman, "Why did the Board send them such a non. sensical letter."

Mr Perry: We shall have to borrow the money! The Secretary was instructed on the motion of Mr Hare to ascertain from the Wellington Building Society, the "Wairarapa Investment Society, and the Masterton Building Society, the terms on which 1400 could be borrowod, and on the motion of Mr Perry ho was authorised to obtain information as to the terms on which it could be obtained privately,' • INSURING BUILDINGS. The Secretary reported that some buildings in Trust properties were uninsured, naming Mr McGregor's houses and Mr Morris' habitation, The Chairman thought that in the case of Mr McGregor the Trust were sufficiently protected by the terms of the lease. It was decided to insure Mr Morris' building to the extent of £SO. ' ..
