Bunny, in a portion of which ho makes reference to me as having made a statement which he challenges as being false, yizr,-.that Mr BunnyVohavges iriliddition to : his'retf.inr ing fee of £loloa wok exorbitant. The statement I there made I am prepared to prove in spite of his elaborate address through your columns. Mr Bunny goes on to say that he never received the' retaining lee of £lolos for the year 1877 and 1878. This I admit, hut | v/oujd call hjs attention to the facj that I did not state that lio'Weivec? it'| he also omits to enlighten your readers upon the subject as to the reason why he did not receive it. On or about the month of October 1878, Mr Bunny rendered an account to the Council amounting in all to the sum of £52 2s 4d, out of which he had paid £2 to fees out of pocket, leavin» a balance of £SO 2s 4d for work done, made up in somowhat the following manner.; -March tho Bth, engaged from lj. a.m. to 10'' p.in, at Assessment 'Cjoufj nh behalf of the Borough, £6 Qs; March' Qth, engaged from 9.30 a.m.'to 0 p.m.' noon the same duties, £0 Ot; preparing Borough By-laws, £2l, The balance"! £l7 10s 8d was made up chiefly by attending Councillors, Town Clerk, Inspector of Nuisances,' and R.M.
