QREYTOWN TOWN BELT. The Clerk presented the following report 1
Council Chambers, Masterton, November, 1881. Sir, —I have the honor to report that, in obedience to your instructions, I at tended the sale of the leases of the Greytown Reserve on the 7th November. Previous to the sale I examined a rough plan of the sections, from which I found that the Greytown Trustees had reserved several Beotions from sale for the purposes of school, crioket ground, and other objects. The sale was well attended, but bidding, with a few exceptions, was not brisk. Reserves had been placed upon all ; the sections, and in addition to the. usual covenants of leases, the following conditions were made Term 14 years from the Ist January, 1882, Rent payable half-yearly,' in advance; lessee to fence with post and four-rail fencing, which must be kept in repair, and Property Tax excepted. The latter olause, I am not quite sure, but believe it' to be to exempt the leases from payment of the tax.
