WAIRARAPA HOSPITAL.
fore House Committee of the Wairarapa Sospital met at the Secretary's office, Jreytown, on Tuesday afternoon. Present—Messrs 0. Phurazyn (chairnan), W, G. Beard; W. 0. Cuffi 6. Wyett, and the Rev W. Booth. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The Treasurer reported the credit balance in hank to he £9l2s Id. Accounts amounting to £49 2s 2d were passed for payment. The Secretary laid before tho meeting the report and balance-sheet for the year snding September 30, 1881, which it'was decided to present to aubseribere at the annual meeting. It was resolved that the Secretary write to the Borough Council and ask for a refund of the rates as a donation to the Hospital. The annual meeting of subscribe™ was then held, Mr 0. Pharazyn being voted to the chair. The Chairman read the report and balance-sheet, which were adopted on the moiion of the Eev W, Booth, seconded by Mr W. G. Beard. REPORT. The Committee of the Wairarapa Hospital, in presenting their report for the year ended 30th September, 1881, have pleasure in informing the subscribers that, as shown by the balance-sheet attached, the Hospital financially is in a fairly satisfactory position, being able to show a credit balance of £lO-1 l'2s Id. During the jear several urgently-required improvements have been made to the Hospital buildings, and the following chauges and appointments have been made iu its working management:—The late custodian and matron having been called upon to resign, Mr Basil Burcl) and Mrs Burch were appointed in their place. Dr Wm. Bey was elected Hospital Surgeon vice Dr J. Smith, resigned, and Mr F. H. Wood was elected secretary, vice Mr Bell, resigned. A system of Hospital tickets, 5s each, entitling the owner to the privileges of the Hospital free for one year, has been inaugurated.

20 patients have been admitted, Three were in the Hospital at the commencement of the year, and three have been treated as out-patients, making a total of 26, of whom 20 were discharged cured, 3 died, 2 still remain in the Hospital, and one is being treated as an outpatient, The general arrangements and
management of the Hospitel are now in a highly satisfactory and efficient condition, and it only requires the hearty cooperation and sympathy of subscribers and the public generally to maintain and continue it in that position.
C. Pharazyn, Chairman. The following gentlemen were then elected as a «e»eral committee for the ensuing yearßevs H. V. White, W, Booth, and A, Knell, and Messrs \V. 6. Beard, J. 6. Cox, W. C. Cuff, H. Dudding, T. Moore, W. Skeet, G, Wyett, MoShane, J. 0, Bidwell, and R. C. Black.
Messrs E. C. Black and N. Stenhouse were requested to act as auditors. A meeting of the newly-elected Committee was then hold, the following being present: Mr C. Pharazyn (in the chair), and Messrs \Y. G. Beard, W. G, Cuff, G. Wyett, and the Rev VT. Booth. The election of officers then took place, and resulted as follows: -Chairman, 0. Pharazyn ; Treasurer, W. (3. Cuß; Secretary, R 11. Wood. The following gentlemen were then elected a» House Committee for the ensuing year—Rovs H, V. Whito and W, Booth, Messrs W. G. Beard, W. C. Gulf, G. Wyett, and W. Skeet. The newly-elected House Committe then met, Mr 0. Pharaynbeing in the chair, Mr W. G. Beard was requested to act as Hospital visitor for the ensuing month.
