i, half yearly meeting of the Wairarapa •Ti'ckcy Club was held at the White Hart Hotel, Carterton, fin Saturday last. Over twenty members were present, and Mr C. Pharazyn occupied the Chair. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. The balance sheet, which had been printed and circulated anioni; the members, was then diseased. Burrows and F. IT. Wood were elected members 4 liio Club, and ten members were proposed. The following resolution! were passed : I That for the future the stewards and
other officers should be elected at the half yearly meeting in March instead of in Saptember, as formerly.
That all future Maiden Plates shall be open to the winners of any two-year-old races within the counties of East and West .Wairarapa, and all hones not having won an advertined race of tho value of twenty-five pounds, including his own stake or entrance fee.
That two members who had left the district, leaving their subscriptions in arrear, b« struck off the list of members. That the person who entered Miss Domett for the last Autumn meeting be diiqualifitd until his dishonored cheque for entries be paid,
The election of officers for the ensuing year was then proceeded with, resulting as follows
Judge—Wallace Smith ; Stewards— N, Grace, J. Drummond, J. 0. Yallance, James Macara, H, McMaster, G. H. Lisier-Kaye, and E, A. S. Wyllie; Starter —H. McMaster j Clerk of the Scales— D, Donald; Clerk of the Course—W. lorns; Timekeeper-W. 0. Williams; Auditors— J, Snodgrass and B. Bojb.
Accounts to the amount of £2B 18 8d were passed for payment. Mr Buchanan was authorised to pay any expenses incurred in passing the Bill through Parliament empowering the racecourse Trustees to borrow money. The Secretary was instructed to advertise a Sires' Produce Stakes for 1886, Messrs Tnncred, Yallance, and Buckeridge, having offered £lO each to start it, any other horse-owners wishing to subscribe to the Stakes must do so befure the 14th of next month, as the stake will be confined to the produce of horses owned hy subscribers to it. All money paid for nominations will go to the stake, which will be supplemented by a sweepstake. A hearty vote of thanks was given to the Secretary fur his services during the past year, several of the members speaking in highly complimentary terms of his abilities and energy.
