WANGANUI HUNT CLUB.
A meeting of the,members,of this Club was held on: Saturday;' /Present—Messrs Thatcher (in the chair)/ Betts, Liffiton, Whitcombej Saunders,' Cross, .Chevannes, Dr'Conolly, arid J. J, Crawford. The Chaimanrapoi'tedthatthesub-oommitteQ to open up conmiunicatioh''with Mr Bradley with reference to his proposal to hunt this district, but bad ; been unable to get any reply to their letters. Application had been jnade to Auckland, but a reply had been received, that a pack'could not be obtained, but'if desired whelps would be sent next spring. : ,In , an 4 interTiew with Mr J. G. "Wilson, of Bulls, that. - gentleman had offered to supply the with five couples of beagles,; nearly praß bred, at the price to' him,''viz., i>s 5* per couple, and expenses of freight, 40,, from Melbourne; If 1 the Club accepted the offer, they might obtain two and a half couples by sending'a cablegram to Melbourne. - The'pffer was made subject to the following conditions: That a subClub be formed in the Bangitikei district on precisely the.same basis as the Wanganui Club, under the title of the "Wan* ganui and Bangitikei Hunt Club." _ The ■ local management' of the ' Bangitikei branch to be under the local committee (meaning thereby, providing' dragsmen, payment of', damages, ; the general management of'the; hounds, finances, &c., to be 'solely under the management of the : ; Committee of the whole Club, whose meetings'mil always be held in Wanganiii, Bangitikei members of the Club to have a seat at the Wanganiii meetings, and .vice versa—Mr Betts moved that Mr Wilson's offer be accepted, and that he be' requested to wire to Mel bourne, and endeavor to procure the other two and a half couples of the, same hounds.—Seconded by Mr Whitcombe,. and carried.—On the motion of Mr Saunders it was then resolved that the Secretary write to Mr Bradley informing him that other arrangemeets for. hunting the district had been made. The sub-Com-mittee were "then instructed to ascertain what gentleman would accept' the position" of Amateur Master of the Hounds. —Eesolved that all subscriptions he collected within 14 days, and that with all details of managements Sub-Committee to have full power.—Herald. : ;)
